San Jose Sharks head coach Ryan Warsofsky was interviewed on SiriusXM NHL Network Radio and provided an update on Logan Couture.
Couture played just six games last season as he dealt with his long-reported deep groin injury. During April's exit interviews, the captain told reporters that he would resume skating in July, but nothing has been confirmed.
Warsofsky was asked for an update and remained non-committal about the captain's status.
"He's working extremely hard. He's in San Jose. He's been in San Jose. He's training. He's working out. I know he's feeling good, and I know when Logan is feeling good, we will let him play," Warsofsky said. “We have a really good plan as an organization for Logan to get him back healthy."
Like former head coach David Quinn used to say, Warsofsky said San Jose will deal with Couture's injury status one day at a time.
THN has contacted the Sharks for further information about Couture's status. The Sharks told THN that other than what Warsofsky said, there is no further update.
