The San Jose Sharks have placed a prospect on waivers for the purpose of terminating his contract.
Valterri Pulli was placed on NHL waivers by the San Jose Sharks today after he requested to play in Europe.
Pulli was signed by the Sharks out of Finland during the 2023 offseason. He’s spent his entire time with the San Jose Barracuda in the American Hockey League.
The tall defenseman has played just two games this season and has one assist. Overall he has played 61 games for the ‘Cuda and has three goals and eight assists.
San Jose Sharks assistant GM and Barracuda GM Joe Will provided a statement:
“Valtteri requested to play in Europe and we mutually agreed to terminate his contract,” Will said. “We want to thank Valtteri for his contributions to the organization and wish him all the best.”
Pulli will need to officially clear waivers in order for the transaction to be completed.
