Not only did the San Jose Sharks recreate their viral holiday song, but former players Jason Demers and Mackenzie Blackwood also share an unfortunate trade moment.
It has been ten years since the San Jose Sharks original Holiday Sweater song came out, and this season, the new Sharks made a new viral sensation, "Holiday Inflatables."
The original song, "Holiday Sweater," was released a decade ago. Every Sharks fan attending the next home game on Saturday against Utah HC will receive a CD of the song.

The original was posted on Dec. 8, 2014, and like this season's holiday song, it required a special guest appearance by a player who was traded before its release.
In 2014, defenseman Jason Demers was traded to the Dallas Stars for Brenden Dillon. That trade occurred on Nov. 21, but the video had already been filmed. This season, goaltender Mackenzie Blackwood was traded to the Colorado Avalanche on the tenth anniversary.
Just like the first song, a player technically on another NHL franchise had a special guest appearance.
Former broadcaster Brodie Brazil loved the recreation of the video and gave a quote to THN.
"Holiday Sweater, back then and to this day, was so epic. Creating a worthy sequel to that is a lot harder than you'd think. The team did a great job making Holiday Inflatables similar themed, yet different, and getting all those current players - Jumbo and Patty included - to buy into the plan. A lot of Sharks teams around ten years ago were having fun, it is good to see this group going that same direction together."
If another one of these songs is released in another ten years, it will be something if the holiday trade curse continues.
