    We are officially in September, the month where hockey returns, which means we are less than 20 days away from the start of the 2025-26 NHL pre-season and training camp. Before we get there, let's first look at what the San Jose Sharks’ September looks like and some key dates to watch for.

    Sharks Participate in 2025 Rookie Faceoff in California

    The San Jose Sharks are taking part in the 2025 Rookie Faceoff in Irvine, California. The tournament will run from Sept. 12-14 and will feature some of the Sharks’ top prospects. San Jose will play two games against their fellow California-based teams, the Los Angeles Kings and Anaheim Ducks.

    Here is the Sharks’ schedule at the Rookie Faceoff:

    • Sept. 12: San Jose vs. Anaheim - 6:00 p.m.
    • Sept. 13: Los Angeles vs. San Jose - 1:00 p.m.
    • Sept. 14: Los Angeles vs. Anaheim - 1:00 p.m.

    The Sharks’ roster for the tournament will be released closer to the start of the Rookie Faceoff.

    Sharks’ 2025-26 Training Camp & Pre-Season

    After the Rookie Faceoff, the Sharks will kick off training camp around Sept. 18. The first few days will be a short camp before pre-season games begin and cuts are made. The Sharks will play six pre-season games, starting Sept. 21 and ending Oct. 4.

    Here is the Sharks’ pre-season schedule:

    • Sun., Sept. 21 vs. Vegas Golden Knights @ SAP Center - 5:00 PM
    • Fri., Sept. 26 vs. Vegas Golden Knights @ SAP Center - 7:00 PM
    • Mon., Sept. 29 vs. Anaheim Ducks @ Honda Center - 7:00 PM
    • Wed., Oct. 1 vs. Anaheim Ducks @ SAP Center - 7:00 PM
    • Fri., Oct. 3 vs. Vegas Golden Knights @ T-Mobile Arena - 7:00 PM
    • Sat., Oct. 4 vs. Utah Mammoth @ Delta Center - 6:00 PM

    After the pre-season wraps up, the Sharks will prepare for their home opener against the Vegas Golden Knights at the SAP Center on Oct. 9.
