The San Jose Sharks ended a nine-game losing streak with a 4-0 win over the St. Louis Blues.

It was just the team's 17th win this season.

    1. Chicago Won Too, Celebrate This Win

With nine games left in the season, the Sharks are in the driver's seat to win the best odds for the No. 1 pick in the 2024 NHL Draft.

Losing sucks but having the best chance to win the lottery is what is the goal at hand. The Chicago Blackhawks are in 31st and sit seven points above the Sharks. The Blackhawks beat the Philadelphia Flyers 5-1 yesterday, meaning the gap didn't change.

It can be hard to root for losing all the time, so when a win can be celebrated, it is a nice feeling.

    2. Blackwood Continues To Prove His Value

Mackenzie Blackwood stopped 37 shots last night en route to his second shutout of the season. He looked incredibly calm in the crease.

"I felt like the reason why I looked so calm was because when You're in position, you don't have to do too much," Blackwood said postgame. "You got to get some bounces. We got some bounces our way."

    3. Don't Create A Culture Of Losing Hockey

No team is intentionally trying to lose games. With a young team like the Sharks, it is important to play a winning style of hockey. Players must understand that losing isn't okay, and this season's results can't carry over to the next.

Losing sucks, and while it could bring success in the future, the players and staff must make sure that these results aren't the normal outcomes of games.

Hopefully, next season won't be as loss-heavy with some luck in the off-season and the addition of other top prospects.
