The San Jose Sharks continued to trim their roster by placing three players on waivers.
The San Jose Sharks have made three additional cuts to their roster.
Jacob Peterson, Ryan Carpenter, and Oskar Lindblom have been placed on waivers.
Peterson has played well during preseason, but given the additions the Sharks have brought in, his spot on the NHL roster was not a given.
It will be very interesting to see if Peterson gets claimed by another NHL franchise.
Along with Carpenter and Lindblom, Peterson will be on waivers for 24 hours. If the trio goes unclaimed, all three will be assigned to the AHL San Jose Barracuda.
The chances of Lindblom getting claimed are seemingly low. His $2.5 million cap hit is a bit higher than most teams want to take on when claiming a player off waivers.
Carpenter is the definition of a borderline NHLer. He made the New York Rangers out of training camp last season.
