Kaapo Kahkonen stood on his head, and Fabian Zetterlund scored the shootout winner as the San Jose Sharks beat the Los Angeles Kings 4-3 on Monday night.

Kahkonen made 43 saves, including 18 in the first period. Fabian Zetterlund, William Eklund, and Justin Bailey scored for the Sharks.

Trevor Moore, Quinton Byfield, and Drew Doughty scored for the Kings, and David Rittich made 27 saves.

Despite the high shot total, the Sharks battled all night and were determined to keep the Kings off the board.

Mario Ferraro left the game after he fell awkwardly into the boards in the second period. Before the third period, he came out to test it but ultimately couldn't return.

Fabian Zetterlund scores his 14th goal of the season on a delayed penalty. He found a soft area in the slot and cleaned up the trash.

William Eklund scores his 8th goal of the season off a two-on-one break with Nico Sturm. It was his first goal in 18 games.

Trevor Moore cuts the lead in half with his team-leading 21st goal of the season.

Mario Ferraro left the game with an injury after falling into the boards awkwardly.

Quinton Byfield ties the game up at two with his 14th goal of the season.

Justin Bailey scores his third goal of the season to give the Sharks back the lead.

Kahkonen made a massive mistake as he shot the puck over the glass for a delay of game penalty. Drew Doughty makes them pay and scores his 11th goal of the season.
