Logan Couture is expected to return during the San Jose Sharks five-game road trip.
Head coach David Quinn confirmed to media members that the captain will travel with the team during his pregame media availability against the Winnipeg Jets.
When asked if the expectation is for him to get into the lineup on the upcoming trip, Quinn responded with, "Yep."
While Quinn did not confirm what game Couture would play in, he explained that his injury is a day-by-day situation rather than a day-to-day situation.
Couture has yet to play a game this season, and it is unknown what role he will have once he enters the lineup. There is a possibility that he plays on the wing as opposed to his natural center position. The other option is to have Mikael Granlund slide to the wing.
"I've thought about both scenarios," Quinn explained. "I haven't really made a decision. I've talked to both of them about that. We'll just see how [Couture] keeps going."
Logan Couture's season debut for the San Jose Sharks looks like it has finally come. He will be welcomed back with open arms.
