Dean Tait - Hockey Shots - Tomas Hertl Is Headed to Toronto! He Will Represent the Sharks at the 2024 NHL All-Star Game

Tomas Hertl is headed to Toronto as the representative for the San Jose Sharks at the 2024 NHL All-Star Game!

"I'm really happy I can go again," Hertl said. "It means a lot to me, especially with it in the heart of hockey in Toronto."

Hertl has been an All-Star once before. In 2020, Hertl represented the Sharks in St. Louis.

Hertl has been the Sharks' best player this season. In 37 games, he has had 13 goals and 15 assists.

"He's been unbelievable this year in so many ways," Sharks coach David Quinn said yesterday. "Nobody has played better than him. Nobody's been more positive than him."

Unlike in 2020, Hertl will get the chance to bring his family.

"That will be probably the best part," Hertl said. "With kids now, especially the older one, because he wants me to take him into the locker room all the time. Nothing will be better than bringing family. My mom and dad will hopefully fly in too because they didn't come last time."

The NHL brought back the player draft for the event this year. Logan Couture should have fond memories of winning a car because he was the last player picked.

"He told me about the car," Hertl joked. "I don't really want to go last. Hopefully, somebody takes me earlier."

Hertl is San Jose's only player headed to the All-Star Game. He will join other NHL superstars like Toronto Maple Leafs forward Auston Matthews and Edmonton Oilers Connor McDavid.

Fans will vote on the remaining 12 players across the NHL to join Hertl at the All-Star game on Feb. 1-3.
