San Jose Sharks top prospect Shakir Mukhamadullin and ten others were sent to the AHL on Sunday.

Although he had a fantastic camp and preseason, the Sharks sent down Mukhamadullin. Ten other players, including Chrona, Romanov, and Makiniemi, were sent to the San Jose Barracuda.

Barracuda training camp opens tomorrow, and the NHL training camp roster size must be 31 or below.

Head Coach David Quinn repeatedly mentioned that he feels the AHL is the best place for Mukhamadullin to develop.

San Jose also claimed Ty Emberson from the New York Rangers on Saturday, so room on the roster was needed.

The San Jose Sharks will practice at 11 a.m. tomorrow, and Quinn will meet with the media to explain the decision to send the 11 players down.
