Henry Thrun scoring his first NHL was the only positive from the San Jose Sharks 7-1 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday night.

Toronto completely outmatched San Jose in all areas of the game. The Leafs outshot the Sharks 45-23.

Morgan Rielly, Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner, Pontus Holmberg, Jake McCabe, and Nick Robertson scored for the Maple Leafs. Martin Jones won his second straight game against his former team and is up to eight wins. He made 22 saves.

Kaapo Kahkonen was chaced early in the second period and made 16 saves on 20 shots. Mackenzie Blackwood settled things down in relief, making 22 saves.

Kaapo Kahkonen stopped the first 13 shots he faced, but Morgan Rielly found a soft spot in the center of the ice. It was Rielly's 5th goal of the season.

Auston Matthews scores his league-leading 31st goal of the season on the powerplay just 17 seconds after the Maple Leafs took the lead.

Mitch Marner deflects his 16th goal of the season from the side of the net. From a San Jose perspective, that is a really bad goal to give up.

Pontus Holmberg chases Kaapo Kahkonen from the net with a sweet one-handed goal. It was Holmberg's first goal of the season.

Henry Thrun gets the Sharks on the board with his first NHL goal. San Jose didn't complete a full change on the powerplay, so Thrun was out of position and still got the job done.

Jake McCabe beats Mackenzie Blackwood for his second goal of the season.

Marner gets his second of the game on the powerplay. He's up to 17 goals this season.

Nick Robertson joins the fun and scores the third powerplay goal for Toronto. Robertson has six goals this season.
