Newly acquired San Jose Sharks defenseman Ty Emberson will make his team debut tonight against the Vegas Golden Knights.
On Saturday, the San Jose Sharks claimed Ty Emberson from the New York Rangers.
Emberson is a steady defenseman who says he likes to keep his game simple. Tonight, he will be paired with Jacob MacDonald on the blueline.
"He's a good player. I've played against him in the past," Emberson said about MacDonald. "I think he's a good, smart player. So, hopefully, we'll have some chemistry because we both have a similar style. [We] like to move the puck forward, make that first pass."
Making a good first pass is something that Emberson prides himself on. His underlying numbers show he is strong defensively and moves the play forward well.
Emberson won the AHL Eastern Conference defensive defenseman last season for the Hartford Wolf Pack.
"I think just bring some energy and just be able to step right in and add to the team, whatever we can do to win," Emberson said. "Whether it's good plays in the D-zone, getting the puck forward, or just being able to contribute in any way, shape, or form."
Emberson will wear No. 6 tonight. Puck drop is at seven and will be streamed on ESPN+ and the Sharks Audio Network.
