Former San Jose Sharks defenseman Jason Demers is returning to hockey with the 3Ice three-on-three hockey league.

Demers will play for Team Buffalo, with NHL legend Pierre Turgeon as the head coach.

Demers played for the Sharks, Dallas Stars, Arizona Coyotes, Edmonton Oilers, and Florida Panthers. He played 300 games in teal and had 16 goals and 82 assists. He retired from professional hockey after the 2022-23 season.

He played his 700th and final NHL game in San Jose as a player for the Oilers. It was one of the last games of the 22-23 season, and the Oiler's playoff fate had been decided, so they called Demers up to get him his 700th game against the team he started his career with.

Demers returned to Sharks hockey in a broadcasting capacity this season. He began the season as part of the Sharks rotating pregame, postgame, and intermission shows. He made an in-person appearance for a stretch of six games.

3Ice will have eight events before their championship event for the Patrick Cup. The final event will occur at Mullett Arena in Arizona on August 14th. Arizona is the closest the traveling league will be to California.
