Projected No. 1 pick in the 2024 NHL Draft, Macklin Celebrini, has ties to the Golden State Warriors.

Celebrini's father, Rick, is the vice president of player health and performance. Rick has also worked for the Vancouver Canucks and the MLS's Vancouver Whitecaps.

Warriors forward Draymond Green has spoken about his interest in hockey, explicitly watching Macklin before he gets to the NHL.

"Rick is part of the fabric of our organization," Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said.

Macklin's time at the 2024 IIHF World Juniors ended today as Team Canada lost 3-2 to Czechia in stunning fashion.

Celebrini finished the tournament with four goals and four assists in five games. Despite this being the first time he was at the tournament, he wowed people.

Now headed back to Boston University, the forward will continue driving up his strong draft stock.

His connections with the San Francisco Bay Area are well known. Celebrini played the 2019-20 season with the San Jose Jr. Sharks hockey program.

The San Jose Sharks sit dead last in the NHL but have the best odds of landing the No. 1 overall pick.

If the Sharks land the first pick, the Celebrini could reunite with his family for his NHL career.
