The Edmonton Oilers defeated the Dallas Stars on Sunday by a 2-1 final score. With it, they have advanced to the Stanley Cup Final and will face off against the Florida Panthers.

Corey Perry has made history with the Oilers advancing to the Stanley Cup Final. He is now the first player in the NHL to play in the Stanley Cup Final with five different teams.

Perry's first trip to the Stanley Cup Final came back in 2007 when he won with the Anaheim Ducks. However, his three other previous trips did not go well for him. Back with the Dallas Stars in 2020, he lost to the Lightning. With the Montreal Canadiens in 2021, he lost to the Lightning again.

After losing to the Lightning in back-to-back years, he signed with Tampa. Unfortunately, he would lose again in the Stanley Cup Final in 2022, this time to the Colorado Avalanche. As a result, he lost three Stanley Cup Finals in a row.

Now, in 2024, Perry has another chance to secure his second career Stanley Cup. He and the Oilers have a huge challenge in front of them, as the Florida Panthers are an incredible team. However, Perry also has the privilege of playing with superstars Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, so they have a good chance as well.

Perry, 39, has appeared in 13 playoff games with the Oilers, where he has one assist and a minus-2 rating.
