Corey Perry is on the cusp of making history tonight with the Edmonton Oilers.
EDMONTON -- Love him or hate him, Corey Perry knows what it takes to win.

The veteran Edmonton Oilers forward has been around the league a long time. The 39-year-old Perry is in the 20th season of his NHL career.
He will play in his 209th playoff game tonight. That will give him the 15th most playoff games of all time - one more than Wayne Gretzky. Chris Chelios has the most with 266.
That isn't the only milestone that Perry could be celebrating.
If the Oilers defeat the Dallas Stars tonight they will move on to the Stanley Cup Finals. The last time they did was back in 2006, when they faced the Carolina Hurricanes. Should that happen, Perry will write his name in the record books.
No player in the NHL has made it to the Stanley Cup Final on five separate teams. Perry has done it with four different teams. Those teams being the Anaheim Ducks (2007), Stars (2020), Montreal Canadiens (2021) and the Tampa Bay Lightning (2022).
A win tonight would make it five - four of which have come in the last five postseasons.
Perry has brought a tremendous amount of leadership since his acquisition mid-season. Of all the gambles that Ken Holland has taken this season, this one appears to be paying off in spades.
