Former Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Calvin de Haan is on the move. The Colorado Avalanche have traded the former Bolt with Juuso Parssinen, a 2025 second-pick, and a 2025 fourth-round pick to the New York Rangers in exchange for Ryan Lindgren, Jimmy Vesey, and Hank Kempf's signing rights.

de Haan, 33, signed a one-year, $800,000 contract with the Avalanche this past off-season after spending the 2023-24 season with the Lightning. In 59 games this past season with Tampa Bay, he had three goals, 10 points, 96 hits, and a minus-9 rating.

de Haan played in 44 games with the Avalanche this season before the trade, posting seven assists, 58 blocks, 59 hits, and a minus-8 rating. He will now serve as a veteran depth defenseman for the Rangers from here.
