The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins have signed former Tampa Bay Lightning forward Boris Katchouk to an American Hockey League (AHL) contract.
Katchouk, 26, was invited to the Anaheim Ducks' training camp last month with a professional tryout (PTO). However, the 6-foot-2 winger failed to make the team and was released from his PTO. Yet, he has now found his new home and will look to impress with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton from here.
Katchouk spent last season split between the Chicago Blackhawks and Ottawa Senators. In 59 games on the year, the Waterloo, Ontario native had seven goals, 13 points, and 82 hits.

The Lightning selected Katchouk as the 44th overall pick of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. In 38 games with the Lightning during the 2021-22 season, he had two goals and four assists. His time with the Bolts ended later that season when he was dealt to the Blackhawks as a part of the Brandon Hagel trade.
