The Tampa Bay Lightning are off to a solid start this season, as their 9-6-1 record shows. While this is the case, there is no question that they could use more depth scoring. Because of this, it would not be surprising in the slightest if we see the Lightning pursue forwards during this season.

When looking at potential trade candidates, one player who should grab the attention of the Lightning is Chicago Blackhawks forward Ryan Donato.

The Blackhawks currently have a 6-11-1 record and are at the bottom of the Central Division. Because of this, the expectation is that they will be sellers again this season. With Donato being a pending unrestricted free agent, he could be made available once we get closer to the deadline.

Donato is also having an excellent start to the season, as he has eight goals and 11 points in his first 16 games. With numbers like these, he could be a solid addition to the Lightning's middle six and power play. In addition, his ability to play both center and on the wing helps add to his value.

Nevertheless, with the Lightning needing more help on offense, a player like Donato should be on their radar.
