The Tampa Bay Lightning have made a roster move, reassigning goaltender Matt Tomkins to their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch.
Tomkins, 30, was called up to the Lightning's roster on Feb. 22 but did not make his season debut with the NHL squad.
Tomkins has appeared in 22 games this season with the Crunch, where he has a 9-9-4 record, a .911 save percentage, and a 2.54 goals-against average. This is after he had a 15-12-2 record, a .904 save percentage, and a 2.53 goals-against average in 29 games with the AHL squad last season.
Tomkins appeared in his first six NHL games with the Bolts last season, posting a 3-2-1 record, a .892 save percentage, and a 3.33 goals-against average.
