The Tampa Bay Lightning fell to the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday (Nov. 30) by a 5-3 final score. With this, they have now lost four out of their last six games.
Let's discuss three takeaways from the Lightning's loss to Toronto now.
A significant reason for the Lightning's loss was due to several of the Maple Leafs' top players stepping up. John Tavares, William Nylander, and Matthew Knies each scored. Auston Matthews, who returned from injury, had two assists. Mitch Marner also had two assists, while Morgan Reilly recorded a helper of his own.

The Maple Leafs also had some solid production from their depth players. Nick Robertson and Chris Tanev each scored a goal, and 11 players in total had at least one point.
While the Lightning lost this matchup, they certainly went down with a fight. After being down 4-0, the Lightning scored three unanswered goals in the third period. Mikey Eyssimont, Jake Guentzel, and Cam Atkinson each scored.

However, Nylander would put the dagger in the Lightning's heart by scoring an empty-netter to make it 5-3.
Andrei Vasilevskiy had a bit of a tough night against the Maple Leafs, as he allowed four goals on just 28 shots.

While Joseph Woll allowed three goals in the third, he still saved an impressive 38 out of 41 shots on the night. The Lightning created far more chances during the game, but Woll was able to get Toronto two points.
