This former Lightning forward has taken his game to a new level this season with the Canucks.

During the 2019 NHL Offseason, the Tampa Bay Lightning traded J.T. Miller to the Vancouver Canucks. The Lightning needed cap space, so it was a necessary move, but he is certainly a player that they miss. Miller is emerging as a legitimate superstar for the Canucks, and this season he is having the best of his career.

Miller, 30, is dominating with the Canucks in 2023-24, posting 23 goals, 69 points, and a plus-22 rating in his first 53 games. If he maintains this pace of production, he will surpass his career highs of 32 goals and 99 points. Yet, besides the offense, his emergence as an excellent leader has been a huge reason for the Canucks' massive turnaround this season. With that, he has been impactful on both special-team units and has been a major force physically, as his 131 hits effectively display.

Miller also has been very clutch for the Canucks this season, and his performance last night against the Washington Capitals is the latest example of this. With just five seconds left in overtime, Miller scored the overtime winner with a perfectly placed snap shot after intercepting a Connor McMichael pass in the offensive zone.

While Miller was absolutely a solid player for the Lightning during his two-year stint with the club, he immediately became a star following his move to the Canucks. However, he is taking another step forward this season and is cementing himself as a legitimate superstar.

In 94 games with the Bolts, Miller had 23 goals and 65 points. Meanwhile, with the Canucks, he has 129 goals and 368 points in 336 games.
