The Vancouver Canucks lost 5-1 to the L.A. Kings less than a week ago.

The Vancouver Canucks (39-17-7) continue their three-game road trip Tuesday with a game against the L.A. Kings (31-19-10). Last time these two teams met, the Kings dominated the game, defeating the Canucks 5-1 on Feb. 29 at Rogers Arena. With a win, Vancouver would become the first team in the Western Conference to record 20 home and road wins while also reaching the 40-win plateau for just the third time in the last decade.

As L.A. proved less than a week ago, they are one of the most frustrating teams to play against. They can capitalize on mistakes while also protecting the middle better than almost anyone else in the league. A potential playoff opponent, the Canucks need to show that they adjust their game and break through the Kings defensive structure if they want to leave L.A. with two points.

Players to Watch

Vasily Podkolzin

This is the perfect opportunity for Vasily Podkolzin to show he deserves a spot in the lineup come playoff time. If he can use his size to his advantage and be a threat on the forecheck, it will go a long way in helping Vancouver win this game. There is no doubt that he has talent; now, it is about showing he can play strong games against some of the best teams in the Western Conference.

Trevor Moore

Trevor Moore had a phenomenal game the last time these two teams met. He finished with a goal and an assist, threw four hits and blocked two shots, all while holding the Canucks top players in check throughout the night. A player who can have an impact at both ends of the ice, he has the potential to frustrate Vancouver throughout the game.
