New chairs, cupholders and digital screens are among the renovations announced by the Vancouver Canucks.
The Vancouver Canucks provided an update on Monday regarding their $150 million renovation of Rogers Arena. In this latest press release, the Canucks announced that they would be replacing the upper and lower bowls with custom-designed black seats that include cupholders as well as a new digital experience on the concourse level. Also announced were improvements to the pre-game festivities that happen outside the arena and a new and improved experience on the 400 level, where fans can socialize while watching the game.
As per the press release, "Phase III" of the arena upgrades will start at the end of the season and take place over the next two Summers. As per Michael Doyle, President, Canucks Sports & Entertainment, Business Operations, "The project, which will begin when the hockey season is over, is something our members and fans have been requesting for some time, and we understand its importance. With our new seating and our new state-of-the-art videoboard installed, when you step into the Rogers Arena bowl, it will feel like you are in a new building." Initially announced in August, some of the renovations that have already been completed include a new scoreboard, the creation of the Well Health Presidents Club as well as ice-level improvements with new boards and glass.
