Vancouver shut out Buffalo 1-0 earlier this season.

1970 expansion cousins collide on Tuesday night as the Vancouver Canucks (42-18-8) welcome the Buffalo Sabres (33-31-5) to Rogers Arena for the only time this season. The Sabres will be the tired team, having played in Seattle last night, while the Canucks have had plenty of rest, with their previous game coming Saturday versus Washington. With a win, Vancouver would become the first Western Conference team to 94 points on the season while picking up their first home win versus Buffalo since 2019.

Vancouver must play with energy to secure a win against a desperate Sabres team that needs every point it can get. Whether that is winning races to loose pucks or getting traffic in front of the net, this is an excellent opportunity for the Canucks to show they can bounce back after their loss on Saturday to the Capitals. On paper, they are the better team; now it is about going out and proving it.

Players to Watch

Elias Lindholm

Elias Lindholm has been playing better the last few games but is still struggling to produce offensively. He has one assist in his previous 11 games and hasn't found the back of the net in over a month. If he can create havoc in front of the net, he should be able to take advantage of a tired Buffalo team against which he has 15 points in 23 career games.

Bowen Byram

Bowen Byram has been everything and more since arriving in Buffalo. The former Vancouver Giants defender has five points in six games and is averaging 24:10 as a member of the Sabres. A physical defender who is dynamic at both of the ice, Vancouver must be careful whenever he has the puck on his stick.
