The Vancouver Canucks play their first home game of the 2026-27 season on Thursday night.
For the first time since April 14, the Vancouver Canucks will play a regular-season game at Rogers Arena. After defeating the Edmonton Oilers 6-5 in overtime on Tuesday, the two division rivals will complete the home-and-home Thursday at Rogers Arena. Here are the lineup notes for October 1, 2026.
In net for the Canucks is projected to be Kevin Lankinen. If he plays, Thursday's matchup will be special for the 31-year-old, as it will be his 100th start with Vancouver. Over his first 99 games with the Canucks, Lankinen is 37-42-15 with a save percentage of .889.
As for the lineup, Vancouver is projected to use the same group that picked up a win Tuesday against the Oilers. Based on his strong play in the season opener, Max Sasson is expected to match up against Connor McDavid. As for injury notes out of Edmonton, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins has been placed on IR and will not play Thursday night.
