Lineup Notes: Meriläinen Starts, Willander Remains Out As The Canucks Face The Jets

The Vancouver Canucks will take on the Winnipeg Jets for the first time this season tonight, entering the matchup on a three-game losing streak. Vancouver has not won a game against the Jets since March 18, 2025, having dropped their last four. Here are the lineup notes for November 5, 2026.

Tom Willander remains out of the Canucks' lineup in tonight's matchup with the Jets after missing Tuesday's game due to a lower-body injury. As a result, Vancouver will once-again ice different defensive pairings, with Zeev Buium being paired with Guillaume Brisebois and Jamie Oleksiak skating with Victor Mancini. Luke Schenn remains out of the lineup.

Projected to start in net tonight is goaltender Leevi Meriläinen, who got the day off on Tuesday against the Anaheim Ducks after starting the past four straight. Meriläinen currently sports a record of 2-5-1, as well as a 3.31 GAA and .897 SV%. He has played in a total of 11 games so far through the 2026-27 season.
