The 2025-26 Vancouver Canucks have had trouble keeping the puck out of their own net when the goaltender is pulled.

The 2025-26 Vancouver Canucks have entered the franchise record book. On Thursday, Vancouver allowed its 21st empty net goal of the season, which surpasses the original record of 20 set last season. The Canucks have really struggled to keep the puck out of their own empty net, especially at home, as 14 of the 21 have come at Rogers Arena.

It is important to note that empty-net goals have only been tracked since the 2009-10 season. That being said, the previous franchise record heading into the 2024-25 season was 17. As for the NHL record, it is held by the 2021-22 Detroit Red Wings, who allowed 28 empty-net goals.

With 11 games to go, Vancouver has the chance to set a few more franchise records. They have eight home wins, which is two short of the all-time low of 10. The Canucks also have 42 regulation losses and are closing in on the franchise record of 50, set in 1971-72.
