The Abbotsford Canucks will open their home season against the Coachella Valley Firebirds.
The Abbotsford Canucks have announced their home opener for the 2026-27 season. Abbotsford will open up its home schedule on October 17 against the Coachella Valley Firebirds. Tickets are not yet on sale, but fans can be added to an early access list for games.
Coachella Valley is the AHL affiliate of the Seattle Kraken. Last season, the AHL Canucks went 1-4-2-1 against the Firebirds. The only win by Abbotsford came on April 19, when the Canucks won 4-2 on the road.
Before they take on Coachella Valley, Abbotsford will take on the Calgary Wranglers. The two Pacific Division teams will meet on October 2. Last season, the AHL Canucks won the season series with a record of 8-2-1-1.
Abbotsford has named a new GM, but has yet to name a coach for the 2026-27 season. Whoever takes over the job will have big shoes to fill, as Manny Malhotra was promoted to the NHL. In 2025-26, the AHL Canucks posted a 28-37-4-3 and missed the playoffs.
