The Abbotsford Canucks have added some experience up front, signing winger Carsen Twarynski to a one-year contract. The 26-year-old started last season with the Vienna Capitals of the ICEHL before making his way back to the AHL in January, where he recorded eight points in 27 games for the Bridgeport Islanders. Initially drafted 82nd overall by the Philadelphia Flyers in 2016, Twarynski has played 276 AHL regular season games, recording 90 points during that time. He has also seen time in the NHL, playing 22 games for the Flyers over the span of two seasons.

Twarynski brings plenty of experience to Abbotsford and should help some of the younger players adapt to the AHL. As part of the Coachella Valley Firebirds, he went to the Calder Cup Final in 2023 while also going on extended playoff runs during his time in the WHL with both the Calgary Hitmen and Kelowna Rockets. Listed at 6'2", 196 pounds, the Calgary-born forward brings physicality to the lineup and can also help out on the Canucks penalty kill.

As mentioned, this is Twarynski's second time playing in BC. He was a member of the Rockets for one and a half seasons after being traded from the Hitmen. Over his four-year WHL career, Twarynski scored 88 goals and recorded 182 points while also making it to two Conference Finals.

The Canucks kick off their season on October 11 in Calgary, while their home opener is scheduled for October 25.
