Six players will wear an "A" for the Vancouver Canucks this year.
The Vancouver Canucks have named their leadership group for the 2026-27 season. With no captain expected this year, Vancouver has elected to have six assistant captains. Three players will wear an "A" each game, which will be determined based on if the Canucks are home or away.
Starting with the home group, the three players will be Filip Hronek, Linus Karlsson and Drew O'Connor. Hronek returns as an assistant while Karlsson and O'Connor will have a letter on their jerseys for the first time in the NHL. All three will wear the "A" for the first time this year during the home opener on Thursday.
As for the away group, it will feature forward Elias Pettersson, Brock Boeser and Zeev Buium. Pettersson and Boeser have worn an "A" before while this will be the first time Buium gets a letter at the NHL level. The three will start the year with an "A" on their jersey as Vancouver opens the season on the road on Tuesday.
