The 2025 Hart Memorial Trophy has been handed out, with Winnipeg goaltender Connor Hellebuyck winning the prestigious award. Hellebuyck received 1,346 voting points and narrowly beat out Edmonton Oilers center Leon Draisaitl, who finished with 1,209. Overall, 26 players received a vote, including Vancouver Canucks captain Quinn Hughes, who finished ranked 12th.
Hughes received eight total votes, equaling 16 voting points. He received two third-place votes, along with six fifth-place votes. Just like the Norris Trophy voting, Hughes finished third among defensemen, trailing only the Colorado Avalanche's Cale Makar and the Columbus Blue Jackets' Zach Werenski.
Hughes was a worthy recipient of Hart Trophy votes as he was Vancouver's MVP. He led the team with 76 points in 68 games and finished second in the league among defensemen with 1.12 points per game. Hughes was also strong defensively this season, recording 67 blocked shots, which is the second highest of his career.
