Jamie Sabau-USA TODAY Sports - Demko & Lindholm Are On The Verge Of Returning To The Canucks Lineup

Vancouver Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet said that Elias Lindholm is a possibility to play tomorrow and didn't rule out goalie Thatcher Demko for Saturday.

"Day-to-day," Tocchet said of Lindholm. "Possible for tomorrow, but he's getting closer."

Lindholm hasn't played since March 23rd against the Calgary Flames due to injury. He returned to the ice last week.

Lindholm's time with the Canucks hasn't been smooth. There is still uncertainty regarding whether he will play on the wing in the top six or as the team's third-line center.

"We've been tinkering with different ideas. It's going to be matchups and all that sort of stuff," Tocchet explained. "It's an evolving process to figure it out. He could play the wing sometimes, but he's definitely, for me, a really good center."

As for Demko, Tocchet said there is a scheduled plan for the All-Star netminder.

"We have a schedule [and] a plan with him and today was probably like a 60% part of the practice," Tocchet said. "Probably the next thing will be 70 and we'll just gradually go from there. So, it is a good full practice for him [today], but with some limitations."

"I mean, anything's possible," Tocchet said about Demko being ready for Saturday. "We are just really going day to day. We had a good day today and we'll see how it goes tomorrow. That's the approach you have to take right now."

The Canucks clearly want to be careful with their netminder. His health and performance are crucial to any playoff success.
