Gardner was drafted 112th overall by the Canucks in 2022.

Vancouver Canucks prospect Daimon Gardner looks to be on the move as the 2022 fourth-rounder has reportedly entered the NCAA transfer portal. According to Brad Elliott Schlossman of the "Grand Forks Herald," Gardner is set to leave Clarkson University this summer for another program. In his only season with Clarkson University, the 20-year-old forward posted one goal and six assists in 29 games.
According to the Grand Folks Herald, "Graduating students can enter the portal at any time. The window for non-graduates to enter the portal is March 31 to May 14. Exceptions are if there's a head coaching change or if the player's aid is reduced. Players can commit up until school begins. Due to pending litigation, multiple-time transfers who enter the portal during the window will be eligible immediately."
Listed at 6'4", 201 pounds, Gardner had 83 points in 30 games for Warroad High during his draft season. He would make a stop at the USHL level in 2022-23 with the Tri-City Strom, recording 42 points in 46 games before making the jump to the NCAA this season. On top of his six points this season, Gardner was also credited with nine blocks while going 19 for 34 in the faceoff dot. As for Clarkson University, they posted an overall record of 18-16-1, with their final game this year being a loss to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in the ECAC Hockey Playoffs.
