Pettersson has been named one of the NHL's three stars of the month for the second time this season.

After recording 21 points in 13 games, Elias Pettersson has been named the NHL's third star of the month for January. This is the second time Pettersson has been named a star of the month this season, with the previous coming in October when he was the second star. Nathan MacKinnon and Stuart Skinner were named the first two stars this month, while Brock Faber took home Rookie of the Month honours for January.
Pettersson had a month to remember. He was tied for the league lead in goals with 14 and became the first-ever player to score the game-winning goal in four straight road games. During January, he also became the fifth player in franchise history to register at least 14 goals in a calendar month and the first since Alexandre Burrows achieved the feat in January 2010. To top it all off, he was also voted to the All-Star Game for the fourth time in his career and was one of 12 players selected to participate in the skills event.
The Canucks will return to action on Feb 6 against the Carolina Hurricanes. This will be the first opportunity for fans to see newly acquired forward Elias Lindholm, who was traded to Vancouver on Wednesday night. Game time is set for 4:00 PM PT.
