The Vancouver Canucks do not play today but can still clinch a playoff berth based on certain results.
In order for the Canucks to clinch, they will need the San Jose Sharks to beat the St. Louis Blues in regulation AND have the Vegas Golden Knights beat the Minnesota Wild in any fashion.
The Sharks are on a nine-game losing streak and will be on the road. Mackenzie Blackwood will start for them, which gives them the best chance to win.
The Blues are projected to start Joel Hofer, their backup goalie.
The Golden Knights have been picking it up lately. They are 7-2-1 in their last ten games and have vaulted back into third in the Pacific Division. Jack Eichel has 13 points in his last ten games. Logan Thompson could start his third straight game.
The Minnesota Wild are coming off a 3-1 victory over the Sharks. While their playoff hopes are slim, they are still technically alive. If the Wild and the Sharks win, that would greatly help them.
The Canucks haven't been in the playoffs since the bubble in 2020.
