The Vancouver Canucks have reportedly narrowed their GM candidate list to two.
After weeks of interviews, the Vancouver Canucks could be on the verge of naming their new General Manager. According to a report from Rick Dhaliwal of Donnie and Dhali, the Canucks have narrowed their candidate list down to two names. On social media, Dhaliwal wrote, "The Canucks have started telling candidates that they are no longer in the running for the GM job. Sounds like it is down to Ryan Johnson and Evan Gold."
Johnson has been with the organization in a front office position since 2013. He is currently an Assistant General Manager and the General Manager of the Abbotsford Canucks. Johnson helped lead Abbotsford to a Calder Cup championship in 2025 and has been a rumoured front runner since Patrik Allvin was fired on April 17, 2026.
As for Gold, he is listed as the Boston Bruins Assistant General Manager and Director of Legal Affairs. He has spent the last 11 years with the Bruins. Just like Johnson, Gold is also an AHL GM as he manages the Providence Bruins.
