The Vancouver Canucks and Nikita Zadorov haven't begun negotiations for a contract extension.
According to Rick Dhaliwal, Zadorov's agent Dan Milstein isn't speaking with the Canucks. He reports that the franchise knows what is being asked for regarding a possible contract extension.
He also said there were talks before the Stanley Cup Playoffs, but neither side could agree, and they haven't talked since.
During his exit interview, Zadorov told reporters that he loved Vancouver but did not indicate the nature of the contract talks.
The pending UFA had four goals and four assists in 13 playoff games with the Canucks this season. His solid play and infectious media moments made the fan base fall in love with the defenseman.
The Canucks have a lot of offseason work to do involving who to keep, re-sign, and various other moves. GM Patrik Allvin was nominated for GM of The Year and now needs to show what else he can do during what looks to be a busy offseason.
