Vancouver Canucks prospect Josh Bloom and the Saginaw Spirit are off to a hot start at the 2024 Memorial Cup. After defeating the Moose Jaw Warriors on opening night, the Spirit defeated the QMJHL champions, the Drummondville Voltigeurs 4-3 to improve to 2-0 at this year's tournament. Thanks to the victory, Saginaw is guaranteed a spot in the semi-final and has a chance to clinch a berth in the Final with a win over the London Knights.

While Bloom did not record any points, he played a crucial role for the Spirit throughout the game. His standout moments came late while defending the one-goal lead as he beat out an icing with a minute left and, in the dying seconds, was able to flip the puck out of his zone, securing the win. Bloom was also on the ice for the game-winning goal, as he was the player who carried the puck into the offensive zone, which eventually led to Hunter Haight putting Saginaw up 4-3.

Bloom and his teammates will now get a few days off before facing off against the Knights on Wednesday. London was the team that knocked the Spirit out of the OHL playoffs and has only lost two games since March 8. Puck drop is scheduled for 4:30 pm PT and is available on TSN.
