The Vancouver Canucks are projected to have Arturs Silovs start his third consecutive game tonight, but head coach Rick Tocchet didn't confirm his starting goalie.
Silovs has started the last two games and fared well in each. He made 26 saves in game four and 19 saves in game five. When asked about who would be the starting goalie for tonight, Tocchet wouldn't give his answer.
Casey DeSmith was Silovs' backup in game five and is technically the team's No. 2 netminder. He's dealing with a lower-body injury, but there is some confusion about what happened during game two.
Starting goalie Thatcher Demko returned to the ice for the first time since he suffered his injury late in game one. He did not join the team during the morning skate but was spotted on the ice after the team had completed its official time.
The Canucks have a chance to close out their first-round series against the Nashville Predators, and if they do so, they will face the Edmonton Oilers in the second round.
