Daniel DeLoach / The Observer-Dispatch / USA TODAY NETWORK - Demko Snubbed By Martin Brodeur; Somehow Left Off His Top 5 Goalies

All-time great goaltender Martin Brodeur gave some insight into who he thought were the five best goaltenders in the NHL today, and somehow Vancouver Canucks goalie Thatcher Demko wasn't on the list, along with another massive snub.

The first three goalies he listed make sense: Andrei Vasilevskiy, Igor Shesterkin, and Ilya Sorokin. Although they are good goalies, Adin Hill and Jacob Markstrom don't compare to Thatcher Demko.

Demko is having an incredible season for Vancouver with a 2.48 GAA and a .917 save percentage. He's tied for the league lead in wins with 30 and is fourth in save percentage.

Hill's numbers are off the charts this season, with a .927 save % and a 2.27 GAA. While this season has been terrific, his career numbers are not even close. His career save % is .913, and he has played 124 NHL games compared to Demko's 211.

Markstrom is having a solid season as well and likely is closer to Demko, especially since they were teammates in Vancouver. Demko will probably be nominated for the Vezina Trophy, and Markstrom could join him.

The biggest snubbed goalie missing from this list is the Winnipeg Jets' Connor Hellebuyck. Hellebuyck is seen as the NHL's top goaltender for much of the last two seasons. He is the current Vezina favorite with a 2.19 GAA and a .925 save %.

Brodeur's list is strong, but leaving two of three likely nominees for this season's Vezina trophy is an interesting choice.
