While no trade has been broken yet, the fact that Elliotte Friedman is reporting this should send waves throughout the NHL world.
Kevin Weekes is reporting that the Canucks are sending Andrei Kuzmenko to Calgary. Weekes said that there are a lot of details to work on, but talks are happening.
The Canucks have been upfront about their plans for the upcoming NHL trade deadline. Reports have suggested they are in the market for a top-six forward to help bolster their already deep offense.
GM Patrik Allvin signed a three-year extension this morning. This extension comes just after President of Hockey Operations, Jim Rutherford, signed his extension. Rutherford was on TSN's Overdrive today and said that the Canucks are looking to add to their lineup sooner rather than later.
Lindholm is the Flames' No. 1 center and a UFA at season's end. The Flames are on the outside of the playoff picture looking in. If this trade goes through, this should signal that they will be sellers at the deadline.
Lindholm has 32 points (9 goals, 23 assists) in 49 games played this season. He was selected as the Flames All-Star for this weekend's festivities in Toronto.
