Dorrington was drafted by the Vancouver Canucks 176th overall in 2022.
Northeastern University has named Vancouver Canucks prospect Jackson Dorrington one of their four assistant captains for the 2024-25 season. The 20-year-old defenceman was drafted by the Canucks in the sixth round of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft and is entering his third season with the Huskies. The other three assistant captains for Northeastern this year will be Vinny Borgesi, Cam Lund and Jake Boltmann, while Jack Williams will serve as captain.
Dorrington is coming off his best NCAA season, setting a new career high with 12 points in 33 games. He also averaged 21 minutes a night while blocking 49 shots. This season, Dorrington will have plenty of opportunities to face off against fellow Vancouver prospects, including Tom Willander and Aiden Celebrini at the end of February. The three prospects could also face off in the 72nd Beanpot Final, which is currently scheduled for January 23, 2024.
