The Edmonton Oilers extended superstar center Leon Draisaitl to an eight-year extension with an AAV of $14 million, the highest in NHL history.
The Vancouver Canucks have faced the superstar for ten seasons as part of the Pacific Division. That won't be stopping any time soon as the Oilers' eight-year extension for Draisaitl kicks in after the upcoming 24-25 season.
In 45 games against Vancouver in his career, Draisaitl has 22 goals and 30 assists. The center had three goals and seven assists in the seven-game series against the Canucks in the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

After this season, Draisaitl was set to become a UFA for the first time in his career, but he and the Oilers have come to a massive contract extension. There were rumors that the San Jose Sharks were interested in signing the German, but those rumors are officially dead.
Connor McDavid is due for an even more significant extension next summer, and the Vancouver Canucks get the joyous opportunity to play against these two stars more than any other team, as they both play in the same Division.
