Ivan Barbashev scored twice, while Logan Thompson made 29 saves in the Vegas Golden Knightss 5-1 victory against the New York Rangers at T-Mobile Arena on Thursday.
Jonathan Marchessault, Keegan Kolesar and Brett Howden were the other scorers, while Nicolas Roy and Mark Stone each had two assists.
“That type of thing can snowball for your team, and you need secondary scoring, especially with a few of your top guys missing,” Vegas coach Bruce Cassidy said. “You're gonna need some other guys to chip in and keep it out your net. That's what happened last two games. Other guys chipped in. We kept it out of our net. Top guys, one line One night or one line tonight. So it's a formula it's going to be required here probably until we get a little healthier, and that's OK. Other guys, hopefully, relish the responsibility.”
The Golden Knights improved to 26-14-5 on the season.
Vegas hosts Pittsburgh on Saturday.
