The Vegas Golden Knights are heading to Long Island to take on the New York Islanders after an overtime loss to the New Jersey Devils.

The Vegas Golden Knights (27-14-6) are heading to Long Island to take on the New York Islanders (20-15-11) after an overtime loss to the New Jersey Devils.

The Golden Knights are 5-4-1 in their last ten games and were riding a three-game win streak before a 6-5 loss to the Devils. The Golden Knights scored first against the Devils before giving up three straight goals. In the second period, the Golden Knights had an offensive explosion scoring four unanswered. Unfortunately, the Devils scored three unanswered to win the game. Head coach Bruce Cassidy was not pleased, to say the least, about their performance.

The Islanders are hosting the Golden Knights after beating the Dallas Stars 3-2 in overtime. This was the debut of new head coach Patrick Roy. The Islanders are currently two points back of the Tampa Bay Lightning for the second wildcard spot and four points back of the Carolina Hurricanes for third place in the Metro.

The Golden Knights will be welcoming back goaltender Adin Hill. This will be Hill's first start since December 17th against the Ottawa Senators. Hill enters this game leading the NHL in both save percentage (.933) and goals against average (1.93).

Jonathan Marchessault is currently on a four-game goal streak where he's scored five goals and seven points. Chandler Stephenson and Mark Stone have also stepped up since Jack Eichel went down with his injury. Stone is on a six-game point streak and Stephenson is on a five-game point streak.

The Golden Knights are currently in second place in the division. They are eight points back of the Vancouver Canucks and have a seven-point lead on the Edmonton Oilers, but the Oilers have five games in hand.
