Vegas Golden Knights Captain Mark Stone will play against the Dallas Stars in game 1 tonight.
Stone has been out since Feb. 20 and his return will be a massive boost for the Golden Knights. His offensive production has been missed of course. Replacing 16 goals and 53 points in 56 games is hard to do but his defensive capabilities and his leadership has been greatly missed.
Without Stone, the Golden Knights have struggled to be consistent. Going through stretches where their offensive game struggled and their defensive game was great and vice versa. Stone can hopefully bring some stability to the Golden Knights lineup.
Stone will skate alongside Chandler Stephenson and Tomas Hertl. Michael Amadio, Paul Cotter and Pavel Dorofeyev will be out of the lineup with Stephenson and William Carrier returning.
The Stars are a major threat and many consider them the biggest threat in the West. They finished first in the West and have a roster built for the playoffs.
Puck drop is tonight at 6:30 P.M. at the American Airlines Center.
