Goalie makes 23 saves as Golden Knights move into third place in the Pacific Division
Logan Thompson made 23 saves to help the Vegas Golden Knights move into third place in the Pacific Division with a 3-1 win against the Chicago Blackhawks.
Brayden McNabb, Michael Amadio, and Nicolas Roy all scored for Vegas, which improved to 45-28-8. They can clinch the No. 3 seed in the Pacific Division with a win against the Anaheim Ducks or a regulation loss by the Los Angeles Kings.
“We're in a great mood right now,” Roy said. “Obviously, the best time of the year is coming. We're trying to get our game in the best place possible. I don't think it was our best game tonight. But I think defensively we do a great job. Enough to win, so there's a great mood around the team.”
McNabb scored at 16:25 of the second period to break open the scoring.
Amadio added a goal at 7:13 of the third period after blocking a shot and roofing a wrist shot on a breakaway.
After Chicago scored to cut the lead to 2-1, Roy added the empty-net goal to secure the win for the Golden Knights.
