Jonathan Marchessault scored his team-leading 28th goal, but it wasn't enough as the Vegas Golden Knights lost to the Carolina Hurricanes 3-1 on Saturday at T-Mobile Arena.
Nicolas Roy tallied a point in his eighth consecutive game, while Alec Martinez played in NHL game No. 800 in his career. Adin Hill made 25 saves in the losing effort.
Marchessault scored his goal at 10:15 of the first period, collecting a rebound and backhanding into the net to give Vegas its only lead of the game.
The Hurricane responded scoring the next three, including a shorthanded goal.
Vegas returns to the ice on Monday for a matinee outing against the San Jose Sharks in San Jose, Calif.
