The Vegas Golden Knights go 3-0-1 on their four-game road trip after Jonathan Marchessault scored his 40th goal of the season in overtime against the Minnesota Wild.

The Vegas Golden Knights go 3-0-1 on their four-game road trip after Jonathan Marchessault scored his 40th goal of the season in overtime against the Minnesota Wild. 

Kirill Kaprizov scored his 37th goal of the season on the power play in the second period. 

Michael Amadio tied the game a one late in the third period. His goal was his 13th of the season. 

Logan Thompson made five saves in overtime before Marchessault scored into the empty net. The Wild pulled their goalie as they were in desperate need of two points. Because they pulled their goalie they forfeited the extra point for bringing the game to overtime. 

With the empty netter, the 33-year-old hit the 40-goal mark for the first time in his career. 

Thompson was once again stellar in goal. He stopped 32 of the 33 shots he's faced. It's the sixth straight game he's allowed just one goal. Jack Eichel was ejected for spearing Kaprizov in the second period. 

The Golden Knights now have a three-point lead over the Los Angeles Kings for third in the Pacific Divison. The Golden Knights will be back home on Tuesday to take on the Vancouver Canucks.
